AIS
Using CRL on AIS
There are a few reasons that a Fastest Labs might need to use CRL as a SAMHSA laboratory. Most commonly, this is from clients specially requesting this laboratory.
Difference from Quest on AIS
The primary difference is that CRL is a reporting only and does not have a scheduling feature.
As you learned in training, you can order eCCF tests via Quest to be collected at any Fastest Labs or third party site via passport. CRL does not have that ability.
How to use CRL on AIS
You can set up a subaccount with CRL, just like Quest, on AIS. This will allow for CRL tests to report through AIS, just like Quest.
There are two ways to run drug tests using CRL:
- Paper COC’s
- Using Account Book feature on Formfox
Fastest Labs heavily recommends not using paper chains unless you absolutely have to, like at on on-site. Using eCCF substantially reduces the likelihood that you will have a delay in your specimen. An additional benefit of using Formfox Account book in this case is that the test will show in AIS sooner, giving greater tracking than a paper COC alone
Formfox is an iPad app that allows you to collect or run drug tests. It is most commonly used by Fastest Labs when doing collections for other TPAs. The app has an account book that allows you to store subaccount numbers for testing. If you do need to use CRL, we suggest getting the subaccount, adding it to your account book on Formfox, and running your tests through there. Here is a training piece from FormFox that will show you how to use the account book.
Pricing
CRL DOT tests are $13.29 through AIS, the same price as Quest.
Using both Labs for One Customer
Nothing stops you from using both labs. If, for example, you really need to use CRL for a client at your office but also need to order tests at other sites, AIS easily allows you to have multiple subaccounts listed under each customer. Just list both labs! Any reporting that you run, like an MIS Report, will aggregate all of the testing data regardless of which lab is used.
