On Lab Fusion directions when scanning cup, it says wait 5 minutes. Ops Manual says 4 minutes. Which one is it? Why is it different?

You may notice that Lab Fusion instructions say to wait 5 minutes, while the Operations Manual mentions 4 minutes. This difference can be confusing, but here’s why:

🕒 The true wait time is an average of 3–5 minutes.
This range allows for full development of the test lines on the rapid cup, which is crucial for accurate results.

💡 Why the difference?
Both timeframes fall within the manufacturer’s recommended window. Waiting at least 3 minutes helps avoid reading too early (which can lead to a false negative), and not waiting longer than 5 minutes helps prevent line degradation or misinterpretation.

Best Practice:

  • Always ensure that the test lines are fully developed before scanning or recording the result.
  • Validate the test between 4–5 minutes for optimal accuracy.
